RNC spin picked up by media

Thanks to Rebecca's pocket for pointing off to an older Salon.com article (pre-Iowa caucuses) that documented the ways in which the Republican National Committee's spin on Dean (that he's an angry, unpredictable candidate) was being swallowed whole by a variety of mass media outlets. (It's a carefully detailed article, and worth wading through the process to get free access to it). I hadn't been following that story earlier, so I suppose that was another reason I was so confused by the media spin following Iowa. It would appear that it was just a further recapitulation of the themes the RNC had been selling all along. As I noted earlier, there are numerous reasons why both the political and media establishments do not want Dean succeeding. But as l learned back in Ohio, many years ago, the more the press attacks, the more likely it is that you're succeeding at doing something tangible. All of us who care about re-energizing our democracy need to hang in there, and keep working, patiently but with passion, on taking our country back.
