Today I opened up my Star Tribune, and in the midst of the political coverage of today's primaries there was a composite photograph (meaning: a picture that the paper had cut and pasted together) of the four leading candidates. (Sorry, but I can't find the photo online.) All but one of them was smiling -- can you guess who? I have enough photos of a smiling Howard Dean to know that the omission was not because the Strib didn't have access to one. If you are at all interested in writing to the Star Tribune to point out the problems of such a "three of these things is like the other, one of these things is not the same" picture (remember Sesame Street?), you can find a great engine for sending an e-mail to the right person at the Congress.org site. They maintain a great database, and require more verification than most before they'll send something out.
