Alex's new bike
Something wonderful and amazing happened today -- all four of us (Eric, Alex, Nathaniel and I) -- went for a bike ride down to the river, up around to
Izzy's (which, unfortunately, was not yet open), and back home. For most people, I suppose, it's not so amazing that a family of four would go for a bike ride on a sunny Saturday morning. But my eldest son Alex, who lives with a right-sided hemiplegia, has only just begun to ride a bike. It's a fabulous, shiny red recumbent, a gift from his great-grandma -- and he's great with it! It's hard to describe the enormous sense of joy that comes from watching him laugh out loud as he roars down a hill. Hurray for the people of Sun Bicycles, and the
EZ3 recumbent bicycle, which is a perfect solution for him.
