Intl Center for Nonviolent Conflict
Check this out! Thanks to
Joho I've found the
International Center for Nonviolent Conflict, which among other things a really
rich set of web resource links. The Center is dedicated to "developing and encouraging the use of civilian-based, nonmilitary strategies to establish and defend democracy and human rights worldwide." This reminds me a lot of one of the three prongs of "
alternative defense," a concept that
Randall Forsberg was talking about back in the early '80's. I've been convinced that people must still be thinking about it, but until today I hadn't found anything on the web remotely resembling these ideas.
