Tensegrities

It's out!

Gosh but this has been a big week... I just received my book in the mail! It's hard to describe the complex set of emotions it evokes for me. Pride in completing a project, excitement about finally having a copy in my hands, awe and humility at the cover blurbs colleagues wrote for it, shame at the realization of how much it DOESN'T accomplish and how imperfect it is, nervousness about how people will respond to it, fear that no one will read it, etc. etc.

Books have been such important companions for me all of my life that I yearn to be able to provide such a companion for someone else. I don't know whether this book will be able to be such a friend, and that's probably another part the emotion I'm feeling, because as in other sorts of learning, there are not many opportunities for glimpsing impact. Still, I'm excited! And thankful to all of the people who helped me to work on it.
