Google Circles

Well, this is interesting! Google has a new beta service, googlecircles, which allows you to see what people are searching for -- that is statistically significantly different from other searches -- in your area. They have a google circle for Minneapolis, and the list (which at the moment includes only 18 things) -- has some of the usual suspects (the Mall of America, the Star Tribune) BUT ALSO Bethlehem Baptist Church (the conservative evangelical home of the Rev. John Piper), and North Central University (a Pentecostal school). I wonder what we might make of that? Posted by hessma at March 31, 2006 10:08 PM

Well, it turns out that this is just a hoax! If you go to that URL now, you'll get a letter from the person who engineered it. Clearly I was too easily taken in! thanks, Catrina, for pointing it out.
