Thinking about the middle east...

I haven't written in here yet about what is happening right now in Lebanon. It's just been too hard to find a way to put into words what I've been feeling. I also have no idea at all what we should or could be doing. But someone named Jemand von Niemand wrote a piece at dailyKos this weekend, that helps articulate at least some of what I'm feeling. Mostly I'm thrown to my knees, hungering for God to bring justice and peace to our broken and hurting world... Posted by hessma at July 17, 2006 01:12 PM

Thanks Mary,

This was good for me today. I was watching Jon Stewart's post 9/11 speech eariler and thinking about hope and remembering hope. This post reminds me that we can also create hope. That it may just take one person to stand - but we are not just one.

While you fall to your knees, you allow others to stand. I will stand where I am able today. And maybe togther we can continue to be agents of God's grace, peace and justice. And maybe for today it will be enough - or at least a start.
